Show notes - Episode 505: Too Dumb to Fix What’s Broken

Morning, friends!

We were miffed at the beginning but I think we turned the ship toward a fun place eventually. Plus we have a song that was recorded in a forest* so that's fun! Let's go!

Pat rambles on political ignorance (2:01), plays new music from Jason Didner (17:08), and  shares the worst items our kids have broken (22:15). Plus: refusing to host Thanksgiving (30:34), a Flyers Update from The Captain (42:51), and more.

Political ignorance

I realize that the yelling may have been more helpful to some of you - and thank you for providing me with that feedback on last week's episode. But I feel much better about this opening segment than what I'd originally planned. Here's the deal: you're allowed to be mad when people say things, and you're allowed to disagree. But if you're coming into someone's comments or messages puffing out your chest? You had better be right. The VP cannot pass legislation, and the president has no impact on your eligibility for Food Stamps or Medicaid. And piss off with the "tolerant left" bullshit, too. No one has to be tolerant of people who support a rapist for president (or the political party that nominated him).

If there is a topical issue, there is a Jason Didner song. Thank you, my friend. The song (Each Other's Heroes) will be part of a compilation called Rock Against Hate. You can learn more about that by clicking here!

QUESTION: What's the worst item in your house your kids have broken?

Thanks to my smokin hot wife for this suggestion! And I'm sorry everyone's kid is a little jerk! Someone should teach them about this stuff...

AITA: for refusing to host Thanksgiving?

To the woman who asked: no, you are absolutely not the asshole here. Your mother-in-law certainly is. And, depending on his response, your husband might be as well. To everyone: If your family treats you like this woman's MIL treated her? Do not go to any gatherings until things are set right. You do not at all have to pretend everything is fine when it is not.

Flyers

Captain! I knew you would bring the thunder even if the Fly Guys did not (have I used that one already?). Thank you for dropping knowledge on us. Let me know if they need me to play goalie.

Other stuff

I'll be real: I don't remember what I said after The Captain dropped in. But I think I mentioned my Discord, which you can join by clicking here. You can also join our Facebook group by clicking here. Come hang (digitally) with us!

🍻

And that, as we say, is that! Thank you again for joining me. Next week we should have a tune and we will have some gaming news and a fun one-star review. Come on back and until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
