Show notes - Episode 491: Interrupting Employee Progress

Morning, friends!

I managed to record this all at once at the end of a work day. I don't know if that made a difference in sound, but there's a little peek behind the curtain anyway. New music, work changes, and more - let's do this!

New music from Mascots (4:44), more Summer Olympics events we'd do (8:23), dental visits (13:00) Amazon Prime ads (18:08), and changes we'd make at work (25:42).

Mascots

Thanks to our friends for the tune! Find more from them here and get Bad News on a Beautiful Day here (Apple Music). Also I misspoke: this interview with Mascots was months before we moved, not weeks. My bad!

Summer Olympics events

My bad for missing these last week - a drawback of needing to record early. But seeing some ref distractions during the rasslin could be fun. Earn that gold medal!

Dental visits

If you take anything from this show, let this be one of the things: Do not wait decades to go back to the dentist. Find a way to get there twice a year so you don't have to make more appointments.

Amazon Prime ads

Look, I'm not naïve. I get that we have to deal with ads. But why can't they at least be in their proper places? Most shows have built-in break spots. Put the ads there and make them unskippable. Or, better yet, STOP INCLUDING ADS ON PAID SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES. (sorry for yelling)

QUESTION: Making changes at work

I love that more than one person said pay raises for this question. If you pay people enough money to live and enjoy themselves, good things will happen all around. Most of my problems would be solved if I had more money, and if I didn't have to waste time and money commuting once a month. Can Joe Biden fix this real quick before he leaves?

💸

And that, as we say, is that! Thanks for coming along this week. Next week we may have a guest, so come on back for that fun and whatnot. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
