Show notes - Episode 490: On the Summer Fence

Morning, friends!

Patrons got to hear me nerd out about The Olympics, so pay me a dollar to hear that. For everyone else: new music, life updates, more on malls, and other stuff! Let's do this!

New music from Part Time Bear (4:36), a disappointing dinner (10:12), Hinge Health (15:38), news on Neshaminy Mall (21:18), SAG-AFTRA vs video game companies (31:30), and which Summer Olympics events we would do (44:08).

Part Time Bear

Thanks to our friends for the new tune! Get their new EP and find more here - tell em Pat said hello!

Life updates

So I did not actually have that call with the physical therapist because of work stuff, but I have rescheduled for next week. I also have done a great job keeping up with my exercise sessions so far. It doesn't make up for getting a completely incorrect pizza, but at least one part of my life is going well!

More mall news

I guess talking about malls is my thing anymore. It will be strange to see other things at Neshaminy Mall, but at least the space will still be in use. And that is much better than making it a parking lot or leaving a decrepit building.

SAG-AFTRA strike

Could you tell I did this segment mostly on vibes? No? Great! I have since read more about the issue, but my point on the show stands. Studios want to save money by using AI rather than paying talent. They should not do that instead.

QUESTION: Which Summer Olympics event would you do?

I know I missed a couple of answers because I record ahead of time, but thank you to everyone who responded. I love the Olympics and find myself getting wrapped up in sports I don't usually get to see. I wish we could all achieve our dreams, but for now? Let's enjoy the domination of people like Simone Biles and Katie Ledecky (and the Korean archers!).

🤺

And that, as we say, is that! Thanks for coming along this week. Check out my July newsletter here and come on back next week for a new question and other things. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Also since I referenced it, here's the Breaking Bad pizza picture. I just couldn't pass up Batman fencing!

Crap open a cold one!
