Show notes - Episode 489: And That's That for That

Morning, friends!

In an update: the repair guy came and fixed the front gate, the back wall (I hope!), and the front door. Success! Elsewhere, I signed up for free, virtual physical therapy through my insurance. So let's cross our toes that this one helps! Here we go with the stuff!

New music from Shallow Side (5:35), the CrowdStrike problem (11:42), protecting your colleagues (25:56), more engagement bait (37:12), and the retractable roof (51:39).

Shallow Side

Thanks to our new friends for the tune! Shout out to their PR person who responded to me posthaste and gave me the go ahead. Find more from them here and go get Reflections! And get a rasslin company on the horn ASAP about FILTERS!

CrowdStrike

Your Facebook acquaintance who was an expert on politics last week and infectious diseases in 2020 is now an IT guy. How did he make the time for so much schooling? Anyway, my biggest issue with this is that it was staggered so these issues could be caught before they reached everyone. Isn't that a basic step in the process?

Protecting your colleagues

We got a little real today, but sometimes we need that. If you're at work and you get a call from a stranger asking for a colleague? You don't know where your colleague went or when they will return. It is that simple to keep everyone safe. I promise you won't go to hell for lying about that. Protecting your colleague/friend is more important. God will get it!

More engagement bait

I like to think I made up for the serious talk with this. Getting fired up over something completely absurd is exactly what we all needed today, I think. But please: stop falling for mindless drivel to make some dork a few bucks. Screenshot it and have a real discussion with your pals. Or join SpaceHey and use the bulletin feature!

The retractable roof

I wrote about this on the website in 2022, I know. But the fact that in 2024 we still have to worry about rainouts for baseball games is silly, right? Right? I know logistically it would be a nightmare. But who can we talk to about getting this done? Do I need to call the President?

🏟

And that, as we say, is that! Thanks for coming along this week. Next week we may have a new question and we'll have a new tune from longtime friends of the show. Come on back for the stuff and until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
