Show notes - Episode 487: Sign Me Up for More Games

Morning, friends!

I am happy to be back to about 85% here, because now the show doesn't sound so bad. We played new music, talked about video games, and did other stuff! Let's go!

New music from Northbound (4:22), The Steam Summer Sale (8:41), Amazon Luna (13:14), retail credit cards (19:56), a disappointing TV finale (36:11), and MLB All-Star thoughts (48:48).

Thanks to our friend for the new tune! Get Baby's Breath here and don't tell him about the mouth riff! Also don't tell him I got my dates mixed up and forgot to tell you that his album (Juniper) dropped yesterday!

Steam Summer Sale

They got me again - as they do most years - but it's okay! I love gaming and getting items on sale, so this really works out for me. Come August I'll try to stream The Quarry on my lunch breaks!

Amazon Luna

I had seen ads for this for a while, but never actually clicked on it. Then my son saw an orange frog and wanted that on the TV. We didn't get to the frog in Fortnite, but I did get to play video games in my living room with my son. A win in my book! (Also I did fire this up on my PC and couldn't figure out how to use my controller. A loss!)

Retail credit cards

I know I've talked about this for weeks, so I hope it lived up to your expectations. It just feels so gross to force people into a financial commitment without their full knowledge and consent. Quit it, corporate geeks!

Suburban Screams...or whimpers?

Spoiler: The Suburban Screams finale was a dud for us. Having such a build to "we're gonna get this guy" before ending on "he's not been caught for six years" and rolling the credits? Weak ending to an otherwise enjoyable show. Maybe we'll get a season two and straighten this mess out.

MLB All-Star thoughts

I get it: Nike wants to make money. And the league makes money from jersey sales too. But be real: How many sales really happen because of the game? You can put up that jersey every summer and there are millions of people who will buy it just because. Let's get back to seeing our team's uniforms out there!

And that, as we say, is that! It felt good to sound better today, even though I had to edit around lots of hacking. But we are back in business for now! Next week we'll have a new tune and maybe some new things to get upset by, so come on back. Until then, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Crap open a cold one!
