I realize I'm a day late with this, but I just thought of it so here we are. Yesterday our friends, shallow pools, released their debut EP, Spring. You can stream it on Spotify and Google Play, and buy it on iTunes - among other places. You can also listen to the wonderful conversation I had with the band on the podcast later today.
I listened to the sweet tunes and shared some praise on the tweet space, so I wanted to post that here for people who stopped checking the site after it went to *coin* a few years ago. Is this a terribly self-serving post? Maybe, but it's another chance for me to promote great music from good friends of the show. So here's the thing! [NOTE: This post works best if you are also listening to the EP - do it up!]
#Sinking is wonderful and belongs in a baseball video game (which, from meeee, is high praise. #Spring— Pat Johnston (@TheMeltingPat) March 8, 2019
The guitar solo on #TiredEyes is so fun. I will be singing that to myself all day. I know I'm not the only one who sings guitar solos. #Spring— Pat Johnston (@TheMeltingPat) March 8, 2019
I love the chorus on #RoomtoBreathe, and it's not just because of the clapping. But really, who doesn't love clapping? #Spring— Pat Johnston (@TheMeltingPat) March 8, 2019
I think we sufficiently covered #ItsAYouThing on the podcast, so I will defer to that and direct you to https://t.co/sdb95MfBoh tomorrow (ooh what a plug!) #Spring— Pat Johnston (@TheMeltingPat) March 8, 2019
The harmonies on the title track are so wonderful. And the guitar riff in the chorus is so good (though I'm biased as a guitar player, I guess). #Spring— Pat Johnston (@TheMeltingPat) March 8, 2019
Bottom line, friends: Get this EP where you get your tunes! It's so wonderful! #Spring— Pat Johnston (@TheMeltingPat) March 8, 2019
(BONUS: an acoustic version of It's You a Thing. I just found - yeah!)
