My Christmas was awesome, and I hope you also had a wonderful celebration. White Supper went well, and I made it another year without having to eat gross fish. Also as of this writing, we still have plenty of cake - thanks mom (and Jesus)! And let me know if you want to plan the birthday party for the original dude!
We had a great time seeing Annie Lederman and Peggy O'Leary at the Punchline on Festivus, though I'm still mad at myself for not knowing who the guy in between them is. If you were there and know his name, let me know so I can see more of his stuff! And I know we addressed this a few months ago, but it bears repeating: When you attend a comedy show, do not try to become a part of it. No one paid to see you. Zip it!
I try not to go from rant to rant, but I guess I didn't plan this show that well. The song Dancing with the Ghost of Christmas Past by Elizabeth Chan is terrible. I'm sure she's a nice person and all, but this tune does nothing good for me - and the video is worse. Check it out and let me know if I'm just, well being me about this (also I'll let you know if Bump and I get back to our holiday song!):
Good news time: I WON FANTASY FOOTBALL! WOOOOO! I did the thing! 3-time Big Orange Couch Champion, Josh Server's Hat!
Even though both of these teams are in the playoffs already, this is the best game on the schedule this week. So it was an easy choice and it should be a good contest!
NFL Game of the Week 17: Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons
- CAR: Can win the division if they win and the Saints lose.
- ATL: I really just want them to spoil Cam Newton's fun.
- WINNER: Falcons. The matchup with the Rams sounds fun!
Not a lot happening in the way of releases this week, but I did get some new games! Also let's play some NBA JAM together! Yeah!
In theaters now: Molly's Game
Now on DVD: Flatliners
New in my collection!
Tomb Raider
Castlevania Symphony of the Night
Our tune this week proves that nepotism is alive and well on the podcast. The band is Three Blue Teardrops, and their drummer just so happens to be Jill's uncle Randy. Yay easy access! Thanks for the song, youse guyses! Go see them in Chicago tomorrow, friends!
It's been a bit since we've done this, so I know these are "old" deals. But we finally got to some HOTSTOVE on the show and I am excited! Woooo baseball things!
- Phillies: traded Freddy Galvis to SD for a pitcher, signed 1B Carlos Santana
- Angels: signed Ian Kinsler, Zack Cosart (he'll play 3B)
- Orioles: Zack Britton out 6 months with Achilles injury, Manny off the market?
- Giants: traded Denard Span, Christian Arroyo, to Rays for Evan Longoria
- Indians: sign 1B Yonder Alonso
Finally this week (after hearing from The Captain once again): If you're in a bind and need someone to talk to or yell at, I will happily be that guy. I've had an awesome year (more on that tomorrow), but I know not everyone did. So if you'd like to join me on the show or for some vidya games or whatever, let's do the stuff and make next year rule!
Crap open a cold one!
